How to play

Drag a piece onto the grid. Fill a whole row or a whole column and it clears, and those cells are yours to build on again. You are offered three pieces at a time, and the run ends when not one of them fits anywhere on the board.

What makes it different

Rotation. Tap a piece to turn it. A piece that fits nowhere one way often fits another, so a board that looks finished usually is not.
A hold slot. Drag a piece into the box beside the queue and keep it for the moment it fits. Leave the box empty and the game uses it for you: the last piece you cannot play is stashed there, and the queue deals you something you can.
Levels that change the rules. Clearing lines takes you up a level, and a level here is not a speed setting. Bigger and diagonal pieces join the mix, obstacle cells appear on the board, the last piece in the queue is sometimes covered up, and each level deals in its own colours — a line cleared in one colour pays a bonus.
Move confirmation. A misdrop is answered before it happens: turn it on and a piece is placed in two steps, put down and then confirmed.

Is Dusk Blocks free?

Yes. The whole game is free to play. Nothing to buy and no account to make.

Does it need a download?

No. It runs in the browser, on a phone, a tablet or a computer. It is the same game either way.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once you have opened it once. The page keeps itself on your device, so a later visit starts with no connection at all. Your scores and your settings stay on your device too.

Is there an app?

The browser version is the app: install it from your browser menu and it takes an icon on your home screen and runs full screen. An Android build is made from this same code and is in testing, so there is no store listing to link to yet.
